PERISH INTO BEING  

This temporary wall drawing installation of graphite and paper proceeded to an erasure stage according to the roll of a die by gallery visitors; the documentation of the erasures is rearrangeable as a new installation. 

Piece 1, Eons, over two walls, exploited the orientation of the gallery to achieve spatial effect.  

Piece 2, Souls, incorporates newspaper figures, used first as interrupting media, cut from the 9/12/01 Chicago Sun-Times, because, having saved these papers from 2001, I finally looked back at them and was surprised to find that they contained all the ordinary sections of the paper -- classified, comics, crossword, obituaries, etc.
